Why do the forces of the coordination framework fear the role of the opposition?

The coordinating framework forces refuse to play the role of the opposition, in opposition to the “Save the Homeland” coalition that seeks to form the new government, which has led to a political blockage, which may open the scene to multiple scenarios.
Behind this rejection are a number of reasons, and narratives, some of which are public, and others are still kept secret, but they appear on the slips of the tongues of the leaders and members of the coordination framework, while some of them talk about their acceptance of the role of the opposition, others talk about the terms of exclusion and marginalization.
It is clear from the comments of members of the coordination framework, the fear and anxiety that Al-Sadr will hand over the reins of affairs, in anticipation of a reverse rotation that might weaken their influence, or impose restrictions on them at the political and military level.
The files of suspicions of corruption and involvement in public money emerge as one of the reasons for the coordinating framework forces’ unwillingness to assume the role of the opposition, despite the importance and loftiness of this role in democratic practices, especially since most of the parties and factions affiliated with the framework forces previously took over the administration of the state, in most of its joints.
worried about the end
Member of the framework, Waad al-Qaddo, said in a televised statement: “They want to strip us of all legislative and executive power, and after they reach power, they will take several measures against us.”
But his colleague, a leader in the State of Law coalition, Wael al-Rikabi, says that “the framework has no objection to the opposition’s title, but we believe that this role is not an obligation dictated to us by another political party, especially since the framework is also one of the winning blocs, and has 88 seats, nor We can be pushed into this role by force.”
Al-Rikabi added, in a statement to (Al-Mada), “We believe in the principle of opposition, and we were previously in the State of Law coalition, we exercised this role in the previous parliamentary session, but what is the point of this site if other political parties want to form a government, and control Parliament? like that?".
Al-Rikabi explains, “The proposals made in this regard are that we do not reject the role of the opposition, but that the largest Shiite bloc in principle be formed in parliament, and accordingly we agree on the prime minister, in order to position each party and take the role it desires.” . Past experiences almost give a clear picture of the reason for the fading of some political groupings, as they lose their power, in terms of not obtaining government positions, such as ministers or general managers, to perpetuate their project and stay within the public atmosphere.
A number of large parties and groupings appear in the Iraqi political mind, which have lost their strength and have permanently vanished, due to their lack of actual participation in the government, a scenario that most parties seek to avoid.
Variation in speech
The sharp rhetoric of the forces of the Triple Alliance constituted a concern among the other parties, which prompted them to gather quickly and gather, in anticipation of subsequent steps, which may weaken their political power, or move quickly towards the deep state, and the positions it monopolizes within the joints of official institutions.
A member of the Sadrist movement believes that “the path of the opposition is not a choice by the losing parties in the elections, but rather a real decision imposed by the new reality, as a result of the people’s lack of faith in those parties and their ability to manage the state, so it gives them another position, which is monitoring and correction.” And trying to modify some of the procedures they deem inappropriate, which is an established global path, in addition to that this differentiation represents a step in the right direction, to build Iraqi democracy.”
The member, who preferred not to reveal his name, added to (Al-Mada), that “the majority of the coordinating framework forces used to call for the majority government, and praised the thesis of the ruling and opposition parties, but the issue is, that this trend is when those forces were in power, but today they are in power. In a complex and difficult situation, she turned towards the option of consociationalism, which reveals the contradiction and moodiness in determining the compass.” He pointed out that “the Alliance to Save the Homeland has a clear project and a specific platform, and it seeks to achieve it, and among this project is reviving the role of the opposition. It is not right for a government to form a government without finding political forces that monitor it and identify the deficiencies in its work.”
Since 2003, the Iraqi arena has witnessed the emergence of large political forces and parties, but they are melting due to the factors of time, political aging, loss of power, and scattering of the project, which makes this scenario open to other forces if they want to give up their share in the government.
The presence within the governments or the joints of the ministries, gives these parties protection and a guarantee from prosecution or political assassination, and permanently enhances their power and influence.
