    The Information/Baghdad…
The Oil Ministry announced today, Sunday, that the (Basra-Aqaba) pipeline project is from the eighties of the last century and is not new, and while it indicated that the project has not been approved yet, it confirmed its transfer to the next government.
"The (Basra - Aqaba) pipeline project is not new, and it is from the eighties of the last century," said the ministry's spokesman, Assem Jihad, in a press conference followed by "The Information", noting that "all successive governments after 2003 supported the project."
Jihad added, "The Executive Ministry of Oil is committed to the government program approved by the government and the House of Representatives," noting that "the project has not been approved so far and has not been resolved to any party, and the ministry is keen to protect and manage wealth."
He added that "the project consists of two phases, the first is Basra and Haditha, which is a group of pipelines that transport Iraqi oil to Iraqi refineries and to electric power stations," explaining that "the second part of the project starts from Haditha and transports oil up to 200 thousand barrels per day, and this is the initial idea of the project."
Jihad explained, "So far, no agreement has been made and the contract has not been referred, and it will be transferred to the next government to study the project with the competent authorities," noting that "what was raised in the media about some inaccurate numbers." finished/25
