The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, called on the government, on Tuesday, to develop an effective vision to confront an upcoming threat to Iraq.
According to a statement by his office, Mawazine News received a copy of it, Al-Zamili received the National Initiative Committee for Energy Support and Reducing Emissions, headed by the Minister of Environment, "Jassem Abdel Aziz Al-Falahi", and the membership of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of "Water Resources, Agriculture, Electricity, National Security, Oil, and the Investment Authority", in the presence of the deputies. Al-Zamili said: Because of the wrong policies of successive governments that worked away from an effective national vision capable of planning, dealing and using all means to prevent crises that afflict our people and our country, Iraq is facing severe and real challenges represented by water scarcity, energy shortage, desertification and an unfavorable environment.
