    Economy News-Baghdad
The head of the Tourism Authority in the Kurdistan Region, Amal Jalal, announced, on Saturday, the development of a long-term plan that will last eight years and other medium and short ones regarding the development of tourism, while she expected the number of tourists to reach more than 20 million annually.
Amal Jalal said, during a press conference, that "more than two million tourists entered the region during the first four months of this year," adding that "more than 6 million tourists will enter the region during the current year."
She added that "the parameters of the plan will appear clearly during the next two years, if all its requirements of infrastructure and administrative facilities are provided, in addition to unifying and reducing fees and taxes, due to the high prices within the region compared to neighboring countries." According to Shafak News.
The head of the Kurdistan Tourism Authority indicated that "the authority has set within its plan that each province will have its own tourism projects that are different from other provinces, in order to attract tourists to all regions of the region."
In a related context, the Tourism Directorate of Halabja Governorate announced, "more than five thousand tourists have entered it, heading to its tourist areas, noting that a solid plan has been drawn up to receive tourists in cooperation with the joint committees in the Qaim Maqamiya and the governorate."
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the directorate stated that the governorate "received (only Friday), more than 5,000 tourists, most of whom are from the central and southern governorates, and the Ahmed Awa resort had the largest share of tourists."
And the Halabja Tourism Directorate pointed out, "to put up signs for the prices of umbrellas, car garages and tourist areas to prevent manipulation and raise prices."
