The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed today, Saturday, that there is no final agreement with the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the candidate for the presidency of the republic.
"There are intensive meetings between the PYD and the Kurdistan Democratic Party to solve all outstanding problems, especially the issue of the presidency, the Kirkuk file and the administration of the Kurdistan region," said Union member Lawand Jalal Agha.
He continued, "With regard to the presidency, so far, there is no final solution, not even a unified candidate between us, and what is happening is a rapprochement of views only," noting that "there is no link between the meeting of tenderness and the announcement of the agreement of the two Kurdish parties."
He added that "the Kurdish house is also scattered and has problems and differences even in the administration of the Kurdistan region. As for the paper that is to be signed between the Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, it is related to the outstanding problems in the region and not the one in Baghdad."
