Currency auction.. The Central Bank of Iraq transfers about $ 200 million abroad
Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq's sales of foreign remittances amounted to about 200 million dollars, on Tuesday.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated, "The Central Bank sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 237 million and 238 thousand and 500 US dollars, which were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added that 80% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 197 million and 838 thousand and 500 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 39 million and 400 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 29 banks have fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 21 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 204 financial intermediary companies.
