The formation of the new Iraqi government was greeted with great regional and international welcome, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey congratulated the new Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, Iran affirmed its support for "the path of democracy in Iraq and extending a brotherly hand to the government."
Saudi King congratulates Sudanese on forming government
The Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani on the occasion of his government cabinet obtaining the confidence of the Iraqi parliament.
The King of Saudi Arabia said in a statement published by the Kingdom’s official news agency, Friday, “On the occasion of granting confidence to your government by the Iraqi parliament, we are pleased to send to your country our most sincere congratulations and best wishes for success and payment,” wishing “the people of the Republic of Iraq further progress and prosperity.”
“Turkey is ready to continue its cooperation on the basis of respect for sensitivities and common interests.”
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the parliament’s confidence in the new Iraqi government headed by Muhammad Shia’a, wishing Al-Sudani “success in this important task.”
In the statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry drew its expectations about the tasks of the new Iraqi government, saying: "We believe that the new government will take steps to meet the expectations of the Iraqi people with a comprehensive approach and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the country."
She stressed that "Turkey is ready, as in the past, to continue its cooperation in all fields with the new Iraqi government on the basis of respect for sensitivities and common interests."
“Iran supports the path of democracy in Iraq”
The Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, said in a tweet on Twitter, Friday (October 29, 2022), “We congratulate the vote for the Iraqi government and the honorable Iraqi people to get out of the political impasse that lasted for a whole year,” wishing the government “success and success to serve the people.” Iraqi with all its sects and components.
The Iranian ambassador affirmed his country's support for the new Iraqi government, saying that "the Islamic Republic of Iran has been and will remain supportive of the path of democracy in Iraq and extends the hand of brotherhood towards strengthening relations."

The US ambassador to Iraq, Elena Romanowski, expressed her position on the political development achieved by the Iraqi political forces after a year of blockage, and stressed the deep-rooted partnership between Iraq and the United States of America.
"Congratulations to the new Iraqi Prime Minister, we look forward to working with the new Iraqi government to advance our common goals during this pivotal stage for Iraq and its people," Romanowski said in a tweet on Twitter, following the confidence of the Parliament.
“Our partnership is rooted in the mutual desire to see a democratic, sovereign, secure and stable Iraq,” Romanowski added.
It is noteworthy that the government of the new Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, won the confidence of the Iraqi parliament on Thursday (27 October 2022).
The House of Representatives voted to grant confidence to Fouad Hussein as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hayan Abdul Ghani Abdul Zahra Al Sawad as Minister of Oil, Taif Sami Muhammad Al Shukrji as Minister of Finance, Thabet Muhammad Saeed Reda Al Abbasi as Minister of Defense, Abdul Amir Kamel Al Shammari as Minister of Interior, Saleh Mahdi Mutalib Al Hasnawi as Minister of Health, and Khaled Batal Najm Abdullah Al-Jaghifi as Minister of Industry and Minerals, and Daoud Salman Al-Ghurairi as Minister of Trade.
Likewise, Khaled Salam Saeed Shwani as Minister of Justice, Ziyad Ali Fadel Al-Ruzej as Minister of Electricity, Abbas Jabr Obada Al-Olaywi as Minister of Agriculture, Naim Abd Yasser Al-Aboudi as Minister of Education, Ibrahim Namis Yassin Musa Al-Jubouri as Minister of Education, Razak Muhaibis Ajami Al-Saadawi as Minister of Transport, and Hayam Aboud Kazem. Al-Yasiri as Minister of Communications, Aoun Diab Abdullah as Minister of Water Resources, and Ahmed Jassem Al-Asadi as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
Also in the session, Evan Faeq Yaqoub Jabro as Minister of Immigration and Displacement was voted on, Ahmed Muhammad Husayn Qassem Al-Murqa’ as Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmad Fakak Ahmad Al-Badarni as Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and Muhammad Tamim as Minister of Planning.
No vote was taken on the Ministries of Environment and Construction and Housing, so the vote on them was postponed to a later time.
