A significant decrease in dollar sales in the Central Bank of Iraq auction
Shafaq News/ Dollar cash sales to banks and mediating companies in the currency auction of the Central Bank of Iraq decreased significantly, today, Wednesday, to reach 120 million dollars.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, the Central Bank sold 120 million and 302 thousand and 612 dollars, while the bank's sales on Tuesday amounted to 150 million and 863 thousand and 380 dollars, which the bank covered at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
The average sales of the bank during the past week amounted to 233 million dollars.
Our correspondent added that 91% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 110 million and 2 thousand 612 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 10 million and 300 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 19 banks have fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 11 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 51 mediation companies.
