Shafaq News/ Dollar cash sales to banks and mediation companies decreased significantly, on Monday, to reach less than five million dollars by a difference on Sunday.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank of Iraq sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 221 million and 852 thousand and 474 US dollars, which were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent indicated that 98% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 217 million and 402 thousand and 474 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to four million and 450 thousand dollars.
He pointed out that 32 banks have met requests to enhance balances abroad, and three banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 46 mediation companies.
