Member of Parliament Muhammad Hassan Radhi announced, on Tuesday, that the political blocs will begin their dialogues for the purpose of resolving the presidency of the parliamentary committees next week, revealing that there is a desire to grant the independents some important committees, but they depend on the dialogues.
Radi said in a press statement, "The formation of the government and the vote on its ministers made it imperative for Parliament and the political forces to expedite the distribution of the presidency of the committees, according to what was in effect in the electoral cycles at the level of components or at the level of weights within each political bloc."
He added, "Serious dialogues and a decision to chair the committees will take place next week," revealing that "there is a desire to grant the independents some important committees, but they depend on the dialogues."
It is noteworthy that the number of parliamentary committees is estimated at 25, while the independents demanded that they be given the presidency of a number of important committees, such as legal, integrity and financial, outside the context of previous distributions that depend on electoral weights.
