Today, Friday, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Muhammad Pakpour, announced the reinforcement of the armored units of the Revolutionary Guards on the western and northwestern borders of Iran.

"Pakpour announced today, Friday, the deployment of armored units and special forces in the western and northwestern border regions of the country," the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported.

He added, "Following the movements of anti-Iranian terrorist and separatist groups in the northwest of the country and the creation of chaos and insecurity in some areas, the ground forces of the Revolutionary Guards have reinforced their forces in the border strip in the western and northwestern provinces of the country, and will continue resolutely to confront the factors of insecurity in the region in cooperation with residents." spare area".

The commander of the Ground Force of the Revolutionary Guards indicated, "Some armored units and special forces of the ground forces are currently heading to the border provinces in the west and northwest of the country."

He continued, "This measure, which is being taken by the Ground Force of the Revolutionary Guards, is to strengthen the units stationed on the borders and prevent the infiltration of terrorist groups affiliated with separatist groups stationed in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq."

Twice since Sunday, the Revolutionary Guards have targeted bases belonging to the Iranian Kurdish opposition in Iraqi Kurdistan, with missiles and booby-trapped drones.

On Thursday, Tehran justified its bombing of sites belonging to Kurdish groups in Iraqi Kurdistan, stressing in a letter to the UN Security Council that it had no "other choice" to protect itself from "terrorist groups."
