    Shafaq News/ Today, Friday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, called on Hungary to increase the number of Iraqi students in Hungary to complete their postgraduate studies, expressing his approval to visit that country after receiving an official invitation from its president.
    This came during his meeting with the President of the Republic of Hungary, Katalin Novak, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq.



    The statement said that during the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for developing joint relations between the two countries and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the President of the Republic expressed Iraq's aspiration to strengthen friendship with the Republic of Hungary, and to maintain coordination and cooperation on various issues of common concern, in a way that serves the two friendly peoples.
    Rashid spoke about the security situation in Iraq, which witnessed a great development as a result of the sacrifices made by Iraqis for their country, as well as the cooperation and support of friends for the security forces.
    He stressed the need for concerted joint efforts to provide assistance to the displaced who were affected by terrorist groups, and to expedite the resolution of this file and secure their return to their areas after their rehabilitation and reconstruction.
    President Katalin Novak referred to the strong relations between the two countries, expressing her country's aspiration to strengthen them and expand the horizons of cooperation in the interest of the two friendly countries.
    She emphasized the importance of Iraq's return to playing its vital role in the region and the world. Referring to the security improvement witnessed, she renewed her country's position in support of Iraq's efforts to maintain its stability and security.
    The conversation also touched on the existing cultural cooperation between Iraq and Hungary, where the two presidents stressed the importance of developing it in a way that enhances the bilateral friendship relations.
    In this context, the President of Hungary referred to the Iraqi students studying there and her country's keenness to provide them with all means of success.
    In turn, he called on the Iraqi president to increase the number of Iraqi students in Hungary to complete postgraduate studies and provide them with security and safety, in addition to opening a direct flight line between Baghdad and Budapest.
    During the meeting, President Novak invited the President of the Republic to visit Hungary. His Excellency expressed his thanks for the invitation.
    Novak held talks with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid in the capital, Baghdad, on Friday morning, before heading to Erbil, where she was received by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.
