The Parliamentary Education Committee confirmed, on Thursday, that the increasing numbers of pupils and students that are registered annually are not commensurate with the educational staff and buildings currently available, while it intends to discuss defining a specific mechanism for dividing the school hours.
A member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Mahasin al-Dulaimi, said, "The process of dividing schools must be subject to a prior study, and it is one of the first problems that the committee will discuss with the Ministry of Education if the school year is 100 percent complete at the start of the 2022-2023 school year."
Al-Dulaimi pointed out, “The importance of defining a mechanism that is compatible with the educational reality of students, because school buildings are not sufficient to accommodate them on a single time basis, so some schools were forced to implement physical and electronic education during one week.”
Al-Dulaimi confirmed, “The number of students is increasing and is not commensurate with the number of educational staff as well as school buildings, as the number of students in some schools exceeds a thousand students, in addition to causing this problem by putting pressure on the current buildings and arranging them in one class, seats and other services.”
