Shafaq News/ The representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc, Sarwa Muhammad, described today, Tuesday, the ongoing negotiations between the governments of Erbil and Baghdad on the 2023 budget as "fruitful", noting that "concessions" were made by the two parties in order to reach a new agreement.
Muhammad told Shafaq News agency, "There is an agreement between the regional and federal governments before the formation of the government of Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani regarding the Kurdistan Region's share of the general budget, and we, as deputies from the Kurdistan Region, hope that this agreement will be binding and long-term."

And she explained, "The citizen in the Kurdistan Region is exhausted, and suffers from special problems with regard to the salaries of employees, so solutions must be reached through negotiation about the percentage of the budget and the financial abundance achieved, as well as regarding the oil and gas law."
Abdel Wahed added, "The negotiations so far are fruitful, and there is a submission of concessions by the two parties, and an intention to reach a new agreement, to solve the outstanding problems since 2014, and we hope that the budget, when sent to Parliament for a vote, includes the rights of all components of the Iraqi people to provide services, appointments and care." social and others.
A member of the Finance Committee, Mueen Al-Kazemi, announced earlier that the total amount in the budget law has become 140 trillion dinars, pointing out that the expected fiscal deficit in the budget amounted to 20 trillion dinars.
He explained that the price of a barrel of oil calculated in the budget law will be between 60-65 dollars, indicating that the Ministry of Finance will present the budget law to the Council of Ministers for approval in the coming days.
The financial and economic advisor in the Iraqi government, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, attributed the delay in approving the 2023 budget bill to the delay in the formation of the current government and its approval of a new ministerial curriculum and development principles that take priorities, which requires more time to prepare and present the 2023 budget.
