Shafaq News/ The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called today, Monday, for the need to do justice to the Faili Kurds, and to review and cancel the legislation issued by the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council against them, while calling on the government to rebuild their areas and grant them the necessary financial allocations within the next year's budget.
Al-Mandalawi's media office said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "Today, Monday, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received in his office a number of the Faili Kurds' sheikhs and notables of the Qara Los clan, to discuss their situation and listen to their problems and needs."
Al-Mandalawi stressed the necessity of doing justice to the Faili Kurds, removing the bad effects that befell them during the time of the defunct regime, and reviewing and canceling the legislation issued by the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council against the Failis, especially Resolution No. (617) related to the confiscation of orchards and agricultural lands in the Khanaqin and Mandali regions of Diyala Governorate. Because it is an unfair and unjust decision, and its consequences must be dealt with.”
The First Deputy called on the government to rebuild the Faili regions and develop their border crossings, and to grant them the necessary financial allocations within the next year's budget, and to include them in economic, sectoral and strategic projects.
The Faili Kurds, who are spread in Baghdad and central and southern Iraq, suffered from a series of measures by the authority of the Baath Party, which took power in Iraq in 1963, where all their property and money were robbed, in addition to stripping them of Iraqi citizenship, which was concluded by former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein with double cruelty.
The Faili Kurds were among the wealthy in Iraq, especially in the capital, Baghdad, in addition to assuming high positions as a result of their desire to study, but they were subjected to systematic campaigns to exterminate them on various charges that they were exposed to.
While Faili Kurdish families have so far complained that they have not obtained the remains of their children, who were victims during that harsh period in their lives.
