    On Thursday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of a court ruling against the former Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, to severe imprisonment for a period of three years, after it filed a discriminatory appeal.
    In a statement, the Commission’s Investigation Department stated that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a severe prison sentence in the presence of the former Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, following the approval of the second criminal body in the Federal Court of Cassation on the two discriminatory appeals submitted by the Federal Integrity Commission and the Public Prosecutor, after the court’s decision. The previous one canceled the charge against the accused in accordance with the provisions of Resolution (160 / Second / 1 of 1983).
    The department added, “The conviction decision was issued as a result of the convict receiving an amount of (600,000) thousand US dollars from the delegated manager of an energy company through a transfer from Jordan to the convict’s son’s account in a bank in Beirut in exchange for obtaining the project to complete the Rashid gas station, indicating that the convict had previously That he explicitly acknowledge the accusation leveled against him, and this was reinforced by his signing the station contract concluded with a South Korean company as the main contractor, and the contract concluded between the company and the accused subcontractor “the authorized manager” as the executing agency of the project.”
    And she explained, “The court reached full conviction of the defendant’s negligence, so it decided to convict him after reviewing the evidence obtained in the case, which was represented by the report of the Office of Financial Supervision, and the defendant’s admission before the court, so it issued its decision to sentence him to severe imprisonment for a period of three years, based on the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983). )".
