The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, stressed, on Tuesday, the need to raise the levels of work of the commission’s investigation directorates and offices in the new year, noting that this year should be a new starting point for the commission’s work in the framework of its endeavor to combat corruption and prosecute the corrupt.
According to a statement received by the Integrity Commission, Judge Hanoun, during his meeting with the administration and staff of the Baghdad Investigation Directorate, urged its investigative and auditing staff and investigation elements to "intensify their efforts to fight corruption and prosecute transgressors with public money," noting that "the battle against corruption is more complex than combating terrorism, since the latter is clear And the enemies are diagnosed, while our battle against corruption is characterized by ambiguity and we need painstaking investigations, investigations and investigations to destroy the dens of the corrupt.” investment and the country's entry into the stage of economic development.
And he urged "to hold the senior corrupt accountable - no matter how high they are - and to ensure that they do not escape punishment," noting that "Iraq is the Iraq of the sincere, and there is no place for the corrupt among us."
He added, "The corrupt steal the citizen's sustenance and cause the loss of the future of future generations," noting that "our platform for work in the Commission is to reward the efficient and distinguished and punish the negligent ones," reiterating his emphasis on the need for "the investigative work to be in accordance with the law and under the umbrella of the judiciary, and to avoid any Suspicion of violating the rights of the accused.
For their part, the directorate's employees emphasized, "the directorate's need to strengthen its investigative and audit staff and its investigation elements," pointing to "the momentum of investigative work and the large number of cases being investigated by its investigators, which calls for attributing and supporting it with the human resources it needs that are commensurate with the size of the cases under consideration." Pointing out "the importance of granting the Commission greater powers in any project to amend its amended Law No. (30 of 2011) in force."
