A member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Aref Al-Hamami, affirmed, on Sunday, that the legislation of important and controversial laws depends on political consensus.

Al-Hamami said, in a statement to Al-Maalouma, that "many important controversial laws and legislation are still awaiting the consensus of political forces for approval in Parliament."
He added, "The oil and gas laws and the Federal Court are among the controversial laws that the House of Representatives was unable to pass in past sessions as a result of differences between the political blocs."
Al-Hamami pointed out that "there are moves during the current parliamentary session to legislate a number of important laws, including oil and gas, which have been overdue for a long time."
Al-Hamami confirmed in a previous interview with Al-Maalouma Agency that his committee is continuing to ripen draft laws, including the insurance and retirement laws. End / 25 hours
