    Today, Saturday, the House of Representatives held its session under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi.

    And the media department of the House of Representatives stated in a statement, which "NAS" received a copy of, (January 28, 2023), that "Al-Halbousi opened the proceedings of Session No. (3) of the fifth electoral session of the second legislative year for the first legislative term."  
      
    She pointed out that "the number of attendees of the session reached 199 members."  
      
    She added that "the Council finished the first reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the international agreement on the establishment of an international fund to compensate for damages from oil pollution for the year 1992."  
      
    And she continued, "The Council finished the first reading of the draft law ratifying the agreement to avoid double taxation with regard to taxes imposed on income and the prevention of tax evasion between the governments of Iraq and the Netherlands."  
      
    She pointed out that "the Council finished the first reading of the bill for the Institute for the Preparation of Police Commissioners."  
      
    And she concluded, "The council adjourned its session to next Monday, January 30."  
      
    Earlier, the House of Representatives Media Department published details of the agenda for today's session.
