[rtl]The Independent/- A member of the State of Law bloc, Souad Al-Maliki, confirmed that the election of committee chairs and their deputies is an important step to activate the oversight role of Parliament.[/rtl]
[rtl]She said in a press statement, followed by The Independent, that Parliament was a little late in exercising its oversight role, in particular, because of the delay in electing the heads of parliamentary committees and their deputies.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Maliki added that the Strategic Planning Committee, after electing its chairman and two deputies, will start monitoring the government program and the various ministries in order to strengthen the oversight role of the council.[/rtl]
