Shafaq News/ The leader of the "Progressive" Party, Representative Haibat al-Halbousi announced, on Saturday, that the parliamentary "sovereignty" coalition will soon end, a year after its formation, attributing this to the lack of commitment of the partners in the coalition to national covenants and constants.
The "Sovereignty" coalition consists of the "Takadam" coalition, consisting of 37 deputies, led by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, and the "Azm" coalition, 34 deputies, led by Khamis al-Khanjar.

Representative Al-Halbousi, who holds the position of Chairman of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, said, in a statement issued by his office today, and received by Shafaq News Agency, that the Taqaddam party, which had approximately (37) seats, agreed to ally with political partners who owned (14) seats. In the interest of class unity and belief in the national constants that are consistent with the demands of the masses of our liberated provinces.
Al-Halbousi stressed that the reasons behind the near end of the Sovereignty Coalition are the primacy of the personal interests of most of the political partners in the Coalition, and the deviation of many of them from political agreements, in addition to attempts to split the political ranks, whether in the House of Representatives, or in the governorates that we represent.
It is noteworthy that the withdrawal of Representative Raad Al-Dahlaki from the Sovereignty Alliance, and the “acceptance of the resignation” of Laith Al-Dulaimi from the membership of the House of Representatives, sparked an outbreak of disagreement within the “Sunni House”, as observers believe that it came in preparation for the next stage and what it includes of early local or parliamentary elections, which You need new alignments and alliances.
