Today, Thursday, the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, discussed with the head of the Omani Financial and Administrative Control Authority, Ghosn Al-Alawi, ways to develop joint cooperation, while stressing the importance of recovering funds and returns resulting from acts of corruption.

A statement of integrity, received by Alsumaria News, stated that Hanoun "made a phone call to (Ghosn bin Hilal bin Khalifa Al-Alawi), head of the Financial and Administrative Control Authority in the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss a mechanism for handing over the director general of urban planning in the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works and the director of the Directorate Anbar agriculture, which the Commission announced earlier that they had been arrested inside the territory of the Sultanate of Oman.

They also discussed "the endeavor to conclude a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, and the exchange of information and investigations about the defendants wanted by the courts, and corruption funds smuggled abroad, with a view to recovering them, in light of the Riyadh Agreement for legal and judicial cooperation, especially Articles (40, 42) of the agreement, in addition to the agreement The United Nations to combat corruption, which Iraq joined under Law No. (35 of 2007).

The two sides stressed the importance of recovering funds and revenues resulting from acts of corruption, and extraditing those wanted in corruption cases.
