The announcement by the Presidency of the Republic about sending a bill to recover proceeds of corruption to the House of Representatives met with mixed parliamentary reactions. While some welcomed the law, considering it a major step in fighting corruption, others asserted that any fight against corruption will remain ink on paper as long as the will is not available to hit the heads of corruption and topple their whales.

Other parliamentarians have underestimated the importance of legislating a new law, in light of the existence of laws and institutions specialized in combating corruption, as they asserted that all these laws will remain ink on paper, unless the real will is available to hit the heads of corruption and topple their whales.
