Today, Thursday, the government spokesman on behalf of Al-Awadi confirmed that there are no disputes with neighboring countries regarding the border fields invested under the fifth licensing round, noting that all of them are located within the Iraqi borders.
Al-Awadi told the official channel that "all the border fields invested under the fifth licensing round are located within the borders of Iraq and there are no disputes or problems with neighboring countries."
He added, "The fields will be invested in oil, as well as the associated gas that is burned in them, and the storage of these fields is inside Iraqi territory."
And he continued, "Iraq buys gas annually at a rate of $5 billion, and the associated burning gas is worth between $8-10 billion. Therefore, the prime minister's decision was bold that associated gas should be extracted, funds provided to Iraq, and the local need met."
