The leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, confirmed that there is no solution to the dollar crisis except through understanding with the American side.
Al-Maliki said in a televised interview, "The dollar crisis is linked to some violations, including smuggling and manipulation by some banks and merchants, and there is no solution to it except through understanding with the American side."
He added, "America is using the dollar as a weapon while it is monitoring the situation in Iraq," stressing that he "suggested to the previous government that the exchange rate be 125, but it did not respond."
He pointed out, "There are currently no foreign military forces in Iraq with armored vehicles and combat equipment," noting that "the Sudanese government must be subject to evaluation after the end of the first 100 days."
He continued, "The dollar crisis was used politically, and there are parties that do not like the results of forming the government."
