The European Union Ambassador, Phila Fariola, confirmed today, Tuesday, that Baghdad has turned into a magnet for international delegations.
The office of the head of the al-Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, said in a statement received by (Baghdad Today) that "the latter met this morning with the European Union ambassador, Phila Fariola, and they exchanged views on developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, and bilateral relations between Iraq and the European Union countries."
The statement added, "Iraq's openness to everyone was confirmed in a way that achieves its interests and preserves its sovereignty."
Al-Hakim stressed, according to the statement, "Iraq's firm position on adopting dialogue to solve the problems of the region, which made it a meeting point and an arena for dialogue that does not interrupt," calling for "activating the partnership and cooperation agreement with the European Union because of the support it provides to Iraq in the fields of energy, climate change, economic cooperation and the maintenance of good relations." with the countries of the European Union and the countries of the region.
In turn, the ambassador indicated, according to the European Union's positive reading, that "Baghdad has become a magnet for international delegations due to the stability Iraq is witnessing, as well as the Union's desire to shift its relationship with Iraq from the stage of grants to the stage of investment," according to the statement.
