    The economist and university professor in Basra, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, revealed, on Friday, in numbers, the size of the new taxes in the 2023 triennial budget, indicating that these taxes will lead to an increase in the cost of transporting people and goods, and then a new rise in the prices of goods and services. 

    Al-Marsoumi said in a press release that the taxes included the following:

    2- A 10% tax on gas oil or kerosene. 

    3- A 15% tax on imported fuel. 

    4- A 1% tax on black oil sales. 

    5- An airport tax in all Iraqi airports with a lump sum of 25,000 dinars per person for travelers outside Iraq. 

    The economist explained, "These taxes will lead to an improvement of non-oil revenues and a slight reduction in fuel smuggling abroad, but they will lead to an increase in the cost of transporting people and goods, and then a new rise in the prices." of goods and services, which may lead to exceeding the annual inflation rate specified in the budget.” 5%, negatively affecting the standard of living of citizens. [/rtl]
