Today, Saturday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, discussed the problems of transmission and distribution networks in Diyala, Anbar, Diwaniyah, and Al-Najaf, while stressing the need to activate the role of distribution employees in transformer stations.
A statement from the ministry said, "Fadel held a detailed technical meeting with the Load Balancing Committee and Addressing Bottlenecks."
The statement added, "The meeting, which is held periodically to study the problems of all governorates, to conduct a comprehensive study of the problems of transmission and distribution networks for the governorates of Diyala, Anbar, Diwaniyah, and Najaf, in which the technical maps of the system and the necessity of distributing loads and dividing the energy supply totals according to the shares of those governorates were discussed."
The minister instructed, according to the statement, to "activate the role of the distribution staff at the transformer stations, as a number of them contain feeders with a voltage of 11 kV, especially for distribution, programming and maintenance, and the importance of activating the electronic SCADA system and linking the terminal and intermediate stations in it." With quick and urgent procedures for its maintenance and rehabilitation, and for a control center to be established in every governorate to be concerned with coordinating work between production, transportation, distribution, operation and control, and great attention should be paid to installing capacitors to treat low voltages.
Fadel recommended, according to the statement, the need to work on installing a self-powered transformer at the Mansouriya station to revive the districts of Muqdadiya, Kalar, Khanaqin, Balad Rose, Kanaan and Anbar, which was the second part of the meeting.
And the statement continued, “The activation of the branches’ shares of energy was discussed, and the necessity of exploiting the Al-Hamidiyah station and extracting lines from it to serve the districts of Anbar. As for the Diwaniyah governorate, the meeting recommended following up the procedures for installing the capacity transformer to achieve greater capacities, extracting the Shamiya lines, and completing the conversion of the north Najaf-Qadisiyah line.” and New Diwaniya-Shamiya, and quick and immediate steps were directed to strengthen the status of the system in the honorable Najaf.
