The General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs announced, on Thursday, that the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, has directed the granting of leave to employees of the Internal Security Forces who use drugs, during the treatment period.
In its statement (March 30, 2023), the Directorate said, “The Minister of Interior directed that leave be granted to employees of the Internal Security Forces who use drugs during the treatment period, and those who come forward on their own for the purpose of treatment.”
And she added, “The Supreme Committee, which was formed by order of the Minister of the Interior, headed by the General Directorate for Drug Affairs and with membership in the relevant directorates, will start its work, starting from the date of 4/1/2022, to examine all officers, employees and affiliates in the Ministry of the Interior suddenly and at different times to detect cases of drug abuse, and the penalty for expulsion from the Ministry of Interior.” The service is waiting for drug users who did not come forward on their own for the purpose of treatment.”
