Representatives revealed a tendency to make amendments to the salary scale before its approval, stressing that passing it is within the competence of the Council of Ministers.
Representative Hussein Ali said, "The main obstacle that hinders the completion of the amendment to the new salary scale is the failure to reach an agreement on reducing the salaries of some ministries, which are high."
Ali added, in a press statement, that "there are clear signs from the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Finance Committee to pass the decision."
And he pointed out, “The new amendment to the decision will work to redress all the low salaries of some ministries through the increase that will be voted on under the dome of Parliament,” noting that “the coming period will witness the completion of the amendment by the Finance Committee and the government.”
Regarding the role of the political blocs in the new amendment, the member of the House of Representatives explains: “The heads of the political blocs in Parliament tended to the necessity of amending the salary scale because of its urgent importance for large groups of society.”
For his part, Representative Atwan Al-Atwani stated, “Modifying the salary scale is currently in the stage of audit and review by the government, and it is a separate law in itself, and it has nothing to do with the budget at all.”
Al-Atwani added, "Peace is a governmental procedure that is voted upon within the Council of Ministers, and we are closely following the stages of its completion as required."
He called, "the government committee in charge of amending the salary scale to complete its tasks as soon as possible."
Al-Atwani expressed his hope that "the cabinet will expedite its ratification and implementation, in order to establish a state of job stability and ensure justice for all."
In addition, Representative Aref Al-Hamami said, “The new salary scale for state employees was an idea that existed in the corridors of Parliament for a long time, but it did not take its legislative field naturally as a result of the controversy surrounding it, because the approval of this law will benefit from it a segment of employees and harm others.” who are they".
He pointed out, "Discussions are still ongoing between the relevant parliamentary and government agencies, and we hope to agree on it and legislate it in the near future."
