Shafaq News/ Today, Saturday, the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq called on Turkey to make an official apology for the repeated military operations in the Kurdistan Region and the bombing of the Sulaymaniyah civilian airport, calling on it to solve its internal problems through dialogue, while threatening to take a "firm stance".

The presidency stated, in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that "the Turkish military operations against the Kurdistan Region are repeated, the latest of which is the bombing of Sulaymaniyah civilian airport," pointing out that "these blatant attacks on Iraq and its sovereignty are condemned, and there is no legal justification that authorizes the Turkish forces to continue their approach of terrorizing safe civilians under the pretext of The presence of opposing forces on Iraqi soil.

The Presidency called on the Turkish government to "take responsibility, offer an official apology for these actions, stop these attacks and solve their internal problems by opening channels of dialogue with the concerned parties," adding: "In the event of the recurrence of these attacks, there will be a firm stance to prevent their recurrence in the future."

Yesterday, Friday, Sulaymaniyah International Airport was subjected to unknown bombing, which did not result in casualties or injuries, except for a fire that was later extinguished.

After the incident, the Kurdistan Regional Government issued a statement through its spokesman, Jutiar Adel, expressing its concern about the incident, noting that "this situation is the result of the occupation of government institutions and their use in illegal actions."

Adel added; That "the actions of an authoritarian party in the borders of Sulaymaniyah caused the closure of Turkey's skies in front of Sulaymaniyah airport and then attacked it, and as a result, the citizens of this region are paying the price."

On Saturday, the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq denounced the bombing of Sulaymaniyah Airport on Friday, while expressing its concern about the tensions that followed the incident between the regional government and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, condemned the attack on the airport, but he strongly criticized the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, and considered him that "he is not a spokesman for the regional government, but rather he represents a party within the government and he is never entitled to speak on behalf of the government, and we condemn his recent statement."
