Analysts and experts in the political affairs called for resolving the outstanding issues with neighboring and regional countries, which the political process inherited from the accumulations of the mistakes of the former regime, indicating that one of the most prominent of these files is the demarcation of the borders between Iraq and Kuwait, hinting at signs that the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani is serious and insisting on resolving the file Borders with Kuwait (on land) and (sea) as this constitutes a consolidation of the concept of sovereignty.
The independent political analyst, Omar Al-Nasser, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "After Iraq committed itself to paying Kuwait's debts due to it as a result of the policies of the previous regime, there are still some outstanding issues and problems between Iraq and neighboring countries that have not been resolved until this moment, the most important of which is The issue of demarcating the land and sea borders with neighboring Kuwait.
He added, "Today we began to feel that the Sudanese government is insistent and serious in going towards resolving this important and sensitive point for many reasons and considerations. It is not possible to restore the inner house if there are no factors that help achieve this, the most important of which is the connection of the issue of empowering Iraqi sovereignty with the necessity of demarcating borders," indicating that "It is not possible for Iraq to be alone in achieving this joint if there is no serious and sincere intention to cooperate with the regional countries to resolve all contentious issues, the most important of which is considering borders as sacred points that cannot be touched or transgressed in any way, starting with the sanctity of regional waters and ending with land borders and fields." He explained, "Whoever carefully looks at this issue in all its aspects will find that any delay in the demarcation of borders may ultimately be in the interest of Kuwait in the long run, especially in the matter of its future strategy in the field of sustainable economic development in Vision 2025-2035."
Al-Nasser called for "the need for the Iraqi government to select experienced specialists who have a long history in negotiations, integrity and giving priority to the voice of Iraq," noting that "not succumbing to pressures or temptations will be a pre-emptive victory for half of the objectives of the border demarcation negotiations with Kuwait that are necessary for the pillars of maintaining national security." For his part, the analyst on international political affairs, Dr. Haider Salman, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah" that "one of the most important issues that have not been resolved so far is the demarcation of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders, especially since there is information confirming that all the patrols in Khor Abdullah are Iraqi and working."
