    Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Planning detailed the Europe for Iraq initiative (Tawfiq) to support diversified, sustainable and comprehensive economic development in Iraq, and while confirming that it comes within the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to support the pioneering status of youth, it announced the value of its agreements signed with the European Union during 2022. .
    Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Johan, said, in a speech during the launch of the Europe for Iraq initiative (Tawfiq) to support diversified, sustainable and comprehensive economic development in Iraq, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "this initiative expresses the depth of partnership with the European Union and representatives of The international community in Iraq for this close link provided by these agencies, especially in the European Union.
    Johan added, "The Ministry of Planning signed 3 agreements during the year 2022, on behalf of the Iraqi government, with a value of up to 50 million euros, and another financing of 46 million euros, and we also signed a financing agreement with the European Union in 2022 with a financing framework of 75 million euros to support sustainable solutions." ".
    He continued, "We are working in great partnership with the European Union and the countries under this partnership to support key sectors in agriculture, sustainable solutions, the financial and banking sector, and public services." 
    And he added, "We worked in the last stage, under the guidance of the Prime Minister's Office and the assistant advisors in the sectoral ministries, to make a great effort to harmonize the international support that is being provided and will be provided with the government program and the ministerial curriculum presented by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, including the basic axes that lead to evaluation and reform." He added: "Perhaps the Tawfiq initiative goes on to emphasize an important point related to economic diversification and containment of the labor market and unemployment in the Iraqi street, according to the measurements and readings shown by the statistical surveys of the Ministry."
    And he continued: “This initiative also goes on to cover a large part of the work with a solid international group in the European Union to conduct surveys on small, medium and large enterprises and sovereign projects that are trying to see the light and focus on the basic problems they suffer from by accessing financing according to a modern banking system through Encouraging entrepreneurship, containing ideas and creativity, and improving the business environment that the country suffers from.
    He pointed out that "this initiative under the auspices of the European Union and the group of six countries proceeds with us with existing projects and financing future projects for a basic path, which is a major direction of one of the prime minister's directions in the next stage, caring for and containing the pioneering situation of youth and their need to be partners in building bridges of development and not relying on typical mechanisms in Employment that can no longer contain the huge amount due to population growth.
    Today, Wednesday, the European Union Mission to Iraq announced the launch of the (Tawfiq) initiative to support diversified and comprehensive economic development in Iraq, while indicating the mobilization of 19 development programs to support the initiative.
