After reviewing oil projects in different countries, the institute stated that 9,100 km of oil pipelines are under construction around the world, and 21,900 km of pipelines are planned. The total cost of constructing these lines is estimated at about $131.9 billion.
Accordingly, there are a total of 31,000 km of oil pipelines in the world under construction or planning. This figure has increased by 30% compared to the previous year, according to the institute.
About half of the oil pipelines under construction or planned are in Africa and Asia, including 4,400 km of pipeline under construction at a cost of $14.4 billion and 10,800 km of pipeline planned at a cost of $59.8 billion.
