The Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee pledged, on Saturday, to start implementing the suspended train project with the approval of the federal budget, noting that the project is considered one of the most important solutions to save the capital from traffic congestion.

Committee member Zuhair Al-Fatlawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, that "the implementation of the Baghdad Project Suspension Train is subject to the approval of the budget," noting that "the project will be implemented by the Ministry of Transport, as its designs were completed by a French company." He added, "The Baghdad Suspended Train Project is a
project developed in the field of transport and communication, and it will be the beginning of projects that will advance the internal transport situation in the capital and contribute significantly to reducing the transportation crisis and traffic congestion.” He added, “His
committee sought greatly to include the suspended train within the important strategic projects to serve the people of the capital, Baghdad,” stressing that “ The project will soon see the light of day.
