    Baghdad/Al-Masalla al-Hadath: The Syrian newspaper, Al-Watan, reported media reports that the American forces present at Ain al-Assad base in Anbar Governorate, western Iraq, intend to close the border strip with Syria.
    A security source indicated that there is information leaked from security sources at Ain al-Assad Air Base, which revealed the intention of the US forces to close the border strip with Syria, west of Anbar, for unclear reasons, in conjunction with the arrival of military reinforcements for the US forces stationed inside the Syrian depth.
    The source added that the security leaders supervising the security file do not have sufficient information about this trend despite the stability of the security situation and the absence of any potential terrorist threats, pointing out that the American forces have intensified during the current period the aerial reconnaissance operations of the warplanes and the march on the western regions towards the Syrian depth.
    The source indicated that the US forces stationed inside the Al-Tanf base building received military convoys coming from Ain Al-Assad base, in an indication of the existence of an unclear scheme characterized by complete secrecy.
    Al-Watan newspaper pointed out that these American moves came days after Syria's condemnation of the politicization of the "chemical file" on the part of international organizations, and ignoring the full cooperation shown by Damascus with international investigators and its assertion that "the American occupation forces provided terrorists in the Al-Tanf region with chemical materials and trained them to use them." , in preparation for fabricating an incident of using chemical weapons with the aim of accusing Syria, as part of Washington’s continuous efforts to exploit the “chemical file” to serve its agendas.
