Central bank sales fell to less than $200 million at an auction on Tuesday.
The Central Bank sold, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, 183 million, 890 thousand and 982 dollars, which the bank covered at a basic exchange rate of 1,305 dinars, per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements of electronic cards, and at a price of 1,310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers, and at a price of 1,310 dinars per dollar in cash.
Most of the dollar sales went to boost balances abroad in the form of (remittances, credits), amounting to 153,220,982 dollars, while the rest of 30,670,000 went in the form of cash sales.
The number of banks that bought cash dollars reached 9, while the number of banks that responded to requests to strengthen balances abroad reached 17, and the total number of exchange and mediation companies participating in the auction was 96 companies.
