Shafaq News/ A security source in Salah al-Din said, on Saturday, that a candidate for the local elections had survived an assassination attempt in the north of the province.
The source told Shafaq News agency that the candidate for the local elections for the Taqaddam party, Lieutenant General Saad Obaid Ali Al-Jumaili, was attacked by gunfire on his car by unknown persons in the village of (Jamila) on the right coast of Al-Sharqat district, north of Salahuddin.
He added that the attack resulted in material damage without any injuries, indicating that the candidate is the brother of the Iraqi parliament member, Miqdad Al-Jumaili, who also holds the rank of human rights team in the military court.
