Shafaq News/ The US Consul General in Erbil, Mark Straw confirmed, on Monday, that the oil and gas file of the Kurdistan Region is important to the United States.
This came during the US consul's visit to the Kurdistan Ministry of Electricity and his meeting with Minister Kamal Muhammad Salih, according to a statement by the ministry received by Shafaq News Agency.
The statement stated that "during the meeting, they discussed the files of electricity and oil."
The US Consul General stressed the importance of the region's oil and gas file for the United States, wishing the ratification of an oil and gas law in cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government.
The statement added, "The two sides talked about the file of resuming the export of Kurdistan Region's oil."
