The State of Law coalition commented on the Federal Court's decision on the unconstitutionality of the Maritime Navigation Law with the State of Kuwait, while stressing that the Federal Court's decision is binding on all parties.
Coalition member Ibrahim al-Sukaini said in a press interview, "One of the reasons for the court's decision is that a third of parliament did not vote on the law regulating navigation in Khor Abdullah for the year (2013) with Kuwait," noting that "The Iraqi government is obligated to implement the court's decision in all its paragraphs."
He continued, "The implementation of the decision will end any injustice or exploitation of the wealth of the country and the Iraqi people," noting that "the country is committed to international treaties with Kuwait in many common files."
Al-Sakini called during his speech, saying:
The Federal Court had previously issued a decision that the law ratifying the agreement between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the State of Kuwait regarding the regulation of maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah No. (42) of 2013 was unconstitutional.[/rtl]
