Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, today, Sunday, while receiving a number of ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions from the European Union, discussed ways to enhance cooperation in a number of fields, including those related to the economy, investment, and the human rights file.

The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that the latter “received a number of ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions from the European Union, as the meeting dealt with the relations between Iraq and the European Union countries, and ways to enhance cooperation in a number of fields, including what concerns the economy.” Investment, the human rights file, and discussion of the international political situation in the region, in addition to a number of topics of common interest.”
During the meeting, Al-Halbousi stressed the House of Representatives’ keenness to “strengthen the bonds of relations and cooperation between Iraq and its friends in the world, and its support for the government in this regard.”
For their part, the ambassadors praised "the positive relations between Iraq and the European Union countries, expressing their country's continued support for Iraq in all fields to achieve its security and stability."
