Al-Muttalabi told Al-Maalouma, “The fate of Kirkuk Governorate is determined by its people and not through political agreements,” pointing out that “the tensions that occurred recently were intended to achieve electoral interests.”
He added, "The Kurdish parties have confirmed that the attempt to return to party headquarters in Kirkuk Governorate is for electoral purposes."
Al-Muttalabi stated, "The recent destabilization of the situation in Kirkuk Governorate has raised the fears of Arabs and Turkmen."
He pointed out that "the past period is the best evidence of the state of instability, kidnapping, criminal acts and major problems the governorate has witnessed, as witnessed by the Arabs and Turkmen in this governorate."
In recent days, Kirkuk Governorate has witnessed tensions and clashes with the security forces, instigated by Masoud Barzani's party, through crowd mobilization and armed statements. Ended/25 n
