Today, Monday, in the Salah al-Din resort, President Masoud Barzani received the new German ambassador to Iraq, Christiana Homann, and an accompanying delegation that included German diplomats and military advisors.[/size]
[size=45]President Barzani congratulated the German Ambassador on assuming her position, wishing her success in her new duties, noting the friendly relations that bind the German people with the people of Kurdistan.[/size]
[size=45]In addition, President Barzani expressed his thanks to the German people, government and army for their assistance to the Peshmerga forces during their fight against ISIS.[/size]
[size=45]Considering that “terrorism constitutes a common threat to all of humanity and freedom fighters, and this threat still persists, and it is necessary to continue international efforts to eliminate it.”[/size]
[size=45]For her part, the German Ambassador stressed the dangers of terrorism, expressing her country's interest in joint work and coordination with Erbil and Baghdad, with the aim of developing stability, prosperity, and a strong economy in Iraq and Kurdistan.[/size]
[size=45]The political situation, the latest developments in Iraq, relations and coordination between Germany and the Kurdistan Region, and attention to the agricultural and economic sectors were another part of the meeting.[/size]
