Agence France-Presse reported that a state of “frustration and rebellion” is prevailing in the corridors of the US State Department, while there is talk of “disobedience” being planned in the ministry due to the Israeli entity’s war on Gaza.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken acknowledged the "emotional impact" that the war between the Israeli entity and Hamas had on his employees, amid media reports that reported planning for a "disobedience" within the ministry in protest against Washington's handling of this conflict.
Blinken sent a message to all his ministry employees on Thursday night, in which he referred to the “difficult” circumstances affecting the American diplomatic corps, some of whose members feel the “waves of fear and fanaticism” generated by the conflict.
At least one US State Department official announced his resignation in protest against the Biden administration's approach to dealing with the crisis. Josh Paul explained on LinkedIn that his resignation came due to “a disagreement over policy regarding Washington’s continued lethal aid to Israel.”
This week, the Huffington Post website reported that State Department employees are dissatisfied with US policy regarding the conflict in the Middle East, with one of them reporting to the site about a “disobedience” being planned at the ministry.End/25
