The Ministry of Oil announced, on Sunday, the completion of a project to extend a dry gas pipeline to the Kirkuk gas power station .
The ministry said in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the technical personnel of the Oil Pipelines Company completed the project of laying a dry gas transmission pipeline (16 knots) feeding the Kirkuk gas power station from the Kormor gas fields, with a length of (1,050) meters and in two stages,” noting that He added that “the pipe will provide the transfer of an additional amount (100 mqm/day) to feed the station and increase the production of electrical energy . ”
The Director General of the Oil Pipeline Company, Ali Abdul Karim Al-Moussawi, confirmed, according to the statement, “The company is keen to implement the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil in supporting projects to provide and transport petroleum products to operate electrical power production stations in all governorates. ”
He pointed out that "the pipeline branches off from the main pipeline (Jumbour Station - North Gas Company) to feed the Kirkuk Gas Electricity Station with dry gas (Taza Station), and all work related to connecting the pipeline and installing 3 valves measuring 16 knots has been completed, in addition to establishing a crossing for the pipeline on The main road (Kirkuk - Baghdad), with a length of 60 meters, as well as other subsidiary crossings, in addition to conducting engineering examination work and measuring the thickness of pipes on the new pipeline route,” praising “the efforts of national staff in completing vital projects. ”
Al-Mousawi added, “The pipeline implementation work was carried out in coordination with the Kirkuk Governorate Electricity Directorate, the North Gas Company, the North Oil Company, and the Traffic, Roads, Bridges and Communications Directorate for the purpose of implementing the project.”
