    Mustafa Falih:
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Party confirmed that the Kurdistan Region is now living in a legislative vacuum that we are not the cause of, as he pointed out. Until the conflicts and political problems inside the region between the blocs were reflected outside it. The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghayath Al-Sourji, said in an interview that we are part of the Kurdistan Regional Government, even though more than a year has passed and we have been boycotting the activities of the Kurdistan Regional Government, but despite this, we did not hope that The region is located in this legislative vacuum, and its government is a caretaker government, and this has affected the Kurdish street negatively in all aspects, especially in the issue of holding Kurdistan region elections and the mechanism and manner of conducting them, as well as in economic and financial issues,” stressing that “Kurdistan is going through crises.”
He pointed out, “This is not our fault. We tried to agree with all the political blocs to hold the Kurdistan Region elections so that we do not fall into this legislative vacuum, but there is a lack of consensus between the political blocs, especially between us and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”
He added, "The main reason was the large quota for minorities and the term of Parliament was extended. After that, some political parties filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of Iraq, and the court's decision ruled that the Kurdistan Parliament could not extend it." He pointed out that "some here and there hold the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan responsible for this problem or accuse us of creating Problems and lack of agreement, but from the beginning, our doors were open to all political blocs. We visited the blocs and talked to them and asked to expedite the establishment of a mechanism and set a period for holding the parliament, but there are parties who, fearing the results of the elections, have become an obstacle to the process of holding the elections.”
He pointed out that “the rivalry, competition and divisions in the Kurdish House within the Kurdistan Region led to the same scenario in the provinces, especially in Nineveh, Kirkuk, Diyala and Tikrit. Each party entered a special list and this must reduce the votes of all,” pointing out that “the political disputes and problems within the Kurdistan Region are between... The political blocs were reversed outside the Kurdistan region.”
He cited, “In the eighties of the last century, in the nineties, and in this century, we tried more means of competition, and there was internal fighting, and thousands died, especially between us and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and we did not get anything except loss, the collapse of infrastructure, and human losses. Therefore, we must extend our hands and unite.”[/size]
