    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
After months of political conflict between the expelled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and former MP Laith al-Dulaimi, the Federal Court ruled to terminate al-Halbousi’s membership, putting an end to the crisis .
No one is certain, perhaps, of what the political process will witness in Iraq, except that the young president suffered major political losses in the face of a decision issued by the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq on the afternoon of the fourteenth of this November.
In light of the resounding surprise, political circles and parties confirmed that Al-Halbousi lost half of his electoral votes after the Federal Court’s decision to terminate his membership .
Secretary General of the National Affiliation Party, Hikmat Suleiman, in an interview with Baghdad Today, said today, Saturday (November 18, 2023), that “after the Federal Court’s decision to terminate the membership of Muhammad al-Halbousi, the situation became different in Anbar and other regions because of a personality who possesses a large bloc and all the tools.” "Power and money."
But Suleiman added, saying: “On the other hand, this matter will not have any direct repercussions on security and stability and will not have direct repercussions in Anbar,” pointing out that “demonstrations may take place, but they will not lead to obstructing public life.”
He added, "The Federal Court's decision has other repercussions, as Al-Halbousi was convicted of fraud, but the question is, will the procedures continue before or after the elections, especially since there is only a month left until they are held?"
He stressed, "Al-Halbousi lost half of his electoral votes, and if issues arise that haunt him before the elections, the shock will be greater, as it will lead to a loss of confidence in his party bloc . "
He pointed out that "Al-Halbousi has lost the reins of his ability in Anbar," noting that "security and stability will not be affected, and everyone is aware of the importance of continuing stability in the largest geographically Iraqi governorate."
