Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed, yesterday, Saturday, the importance of completing the lagging hospitals in Baghdad and the governorates, while he sent a congratulatory telegram to his Spanish counterpart. On the occasion of the formation of the new government.
A statement from his office stated, “The Prime Minister conducted a field visit to the Al-Fadhiliya Hospital project, which is one of the lagging health projects in the capital, Baghdad, and identified the most important problems, the most prominent of which were technical as a result of defects in the study and in the original designs of the project, and directed the concerned authorities to quickly address them.” He added, “Al-Sudani held a meeting at the work site, which included the Minister of Health, the Governor of Baghdad, the engineering staff, and the company implementing the project, during which he indicated the government’s interest in the health file, and its main axis of completing lagging hospital projects, as some of them are delayed for more than ten years, and the accompanying This is due to problems related to the designs and companies implementing the projects.”
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of completing the lagging hospitals in the capital, Baghdad, which has not witnessed the construction of a hospital since the last hospital was built in 1986, which affected the level of health, medical and therapeutic services, with the significant population growth it has witnessed over more than three decades.” Pointing to “the government’s will and determination to resolve and address all obstacles that hinder the implementation of lagging hospital projects in Baghdad and the provinces.”
He explained, “Through the field visits achieved, these projects suffer from several problems related to connecting services, such as sanitation, electricity, water provision, roads, garages, and others.”
He stressed that “any delay in achievement will expose those responsible to administrative penalties.” He also instructed that the problem of sewage treatment be solved by the responsible departments, in addition to submitting a detailed report at the end of this week on the progress of work in the three hospital projects currently being implemented in Baghdad. These are Al-Fadhiliya, Al-Shaab, and Al-Hurriya hospitals,” stressing that he will personally follow up on the implementation of these directives.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister sent a congratulatory message to his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez. On the occasion of obtaining the confidence of Parliament to form the new government.
In his congratulatory telegram, Al-Sudani stressed “continuing cooperation between the governments of the two friendly countries, and advancing bilateral relations to the best levels and in all fields, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and serves their common interests,” expressing his “wishes for the Kingdom of Spain, the government and the people, for more well-being and prosperity.” ».
