Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, on Monday, an invitation to visit the United Kingdom.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by Mawazine News, "Today, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received a phone call from British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, during which various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed. It also witnessed Cameron presenting... An invitation extended by the British Prime Minister to the Sudanese to visit the United Kingdom early next year.
The statement added, "The call dealt with the security and political situation in the region and developments in the Palestinian issue and emphasized the necessity of continuing the truce and working to stop the aggression and prevent the expansion of the scope of the conflict."
The Prime Minister pointed out, according to the statement, "the Iraqi government's commitment to protecting military advisors present on Iraqi territory, reiterating Iraq's rejection of any violation of its sovereignty under all circumstances."
The statement continued, "Cameron stressed the British government's keenness to establish the best bilateral relations with Iraq, and expand the horizons of cooperation, to benefit common interests and support stability efforts in the region."
