    Today, Saturday (December 8, 2023), the American Ambassador to Baghdad, Elena Romanowski, commented on the positions of the main Iraqi forces following the bombing of the American embassy in Baghdad.
    Romanowski said, in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "we commend the Iraqi government's commitment to pursuing those who carry out attacks on personnel and installations of the United States and coalition forces, and we also welcome the statements made by the main Iraqi political forces condemning these terrorist attacks."
    “It is time to take action and achieve results,” she added. 
    Earlier today, Saturday (December 9, 2023), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani issued a warning to the United States of America against responding directly to attacks by armed factions without the approval of the Iraqi government .
    The Sudanese media office stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the latter received, last night, Friday, a phone call from the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin,” indicating that “during the call, relations of bilateral cooperation in the security fields were discussed, and ways to Developing it between the two countries to meet various challenges .”
    He added, "The call touched on the recent attacks that targeted the headquarters of the American Embassy in the capital, Baghdad, and the importance of reducing them, as they undermine Iraq's sovereignty and stability ."
    In turn, the Prime Minister affirmed, during the call, “the government’s commitment to protecting diplomatic missions and workers within the international coalition mission and its facilities, and that the security services are capable of pursuing and exposing those involved in these attacks, whoever they may be,” warning at the same time against “direct response without the government’s approval and the importance of not Repeating the attack that occurred in Jurf al-Nasr.”
    For his part, the US Secretary of Defense welcomed "the Iraqi government's position, its condemnation of the attacks that targeted the US embassy in Iraq, and its measures to pursue their perpetrators," stressing that "such actions threaten the internal security of Iraq."
    Yesterday, Friday, the American embassy in Baghdad announced that it had been attacked by two missiles, while sending an invitation to the Iraqi government . 
    The office of the US Embassy’s official spokesman said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today”, that “at approximately 4:15 am today, Friday, the American Embassy was attacked by two missiles,” indicating that “assessments are still ongoing, and there were no reports of casualties in the compound.” Embassy ". 
    He added, "Until this moment, no party has claimed responsibility for this attack, while indications indicate that the attacks were carried out by groups loyal to Iran, which operate freely in Iraq ." 
    According to the statement, the US Embassy renewed its call on the Iraqi government to take all necessary measures to protect the personnel and facilities of diplomatic missions and partners in the international coalition, stressing that it reserves the right to self-defense and
